Introducing the HugglePets Reptile Room!
We at HugglePets are very excited to announce that the development of our brand-new reptile room is completed and is finally open to the community! The expansion to our store in Wolverhampton has been in the works for several months now and follows the introduction of our crowdfunded Community Aquarium & Sensory Activity Centre in 2019.
The room features over thirty tanks, each containing a distinct species of reptile or invertebrate, and – much like our aquarium – is fitted with low-level lighting, as well as atmospheric rainforest sound effects. The tanks themselves are bioactive with live plants, fostering a living environment for each creature. And on top of that, the room is even equipped with integrated misting and fogging systems, making it the one-stop shop for reptiles in Wolvo.
As well as vivariums, the room includes paludariums – these are tanks that contain both plant and aquatic elements, making them suitable for a number of different creatures to inhabit. These are a variety of rare and exotic animals, which are a mix of wild caught and captive bred.
These additional features are not only great for the animals but provide a unique sensory experience for the customer that we feel sets us apart from other pet brands. Not convinced? Come down to the shop and see for yourself! (Just don’t be a chameleon.)
But don’t worry if you’re not a fan of the scaly kind – the room is kept behind a closed door in our bulk storage room. And if you’re lost, just look for the mysterious footprints on the shop floor…
As part of our not-for-profit work with HugglePets in the Community, activity sheets will be provided where young visitors to the store can match the reptiles to the ones in the new room, having a bit of fun while also learning something new. We take immense pride in our progressive approach to utilising animal therapy with young people, and this expansion is just another feather in our cap in that regard.
